Schools provision at the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum

If we return,

Dread lest we behold blood guiltily

The things that men have died to free.

Oh, English fields shall blossom red

For all the blood that has been shed

By men whose guardians are we,

If we return.

The Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum tells the stories of the ‘Glosters’, local soldiers who served in the Gloucestershire Regiment, and some of the battles they fought in – which changed the world.

I worked with them to create handling sessions and a gallery trail for Key Stage 2 children. These lively, active sessions focus on either World War I or World War II, connecting children to the past through the extraordinary lives of the Glosters who served and the local people who stayed behind.
