The National Portrait Gallery in London houses the most extensive collection of portraits in the world. Its online resources for teachers draw on the fascinating stories of the people who shaped British history and culture to enrich learning across the curriculum.

Did you know the Sydney Harbour Bridge was made in Middlesbrough? Or that the world’s first ever passenger railway began in Darlington? Working with the Gallery and with eight partner museums across the Tees Valley I created an online resource to help local teachers bring the extraordinary history of the Tees Valley to life, through the people who made their marks on this remarkable region.
